Together We Can: Improving HIV Testing, Treatment, and Adherence in Black and Hispanic Communities audio slide show will provide information for health care providers who care for patients with HIV on the epidemiology of HIV in Black and Hispanic communities; the disparities in testing and access to care; ways to overcome barriers to testing and care in these communities; and ways to increase adherence.

Primary care providers and HIV care providers working specifically in or with Black and Hispanic communities: physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and associated caregivers in HIV and community clinics.

After completing this program, participants will be better able to:

• Describe the disparities in HIV testing and care in Black and Hispanic communities
  
• Integrate current DHHS recommendations for testing and treatment in their own clinical practices
  
• Discuss how the cultural and socioeconomic status of Black and Hispanic patients impacts their access to HIV testing and care
  
• Develop trusting and productive patient-provider relationships in order to expand HIV testing and access to care
  
• Provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families
